Description

e © AP6.0 This is a brand new kit to construct a Moth RCM Mk.2 record cleaning machine (see my other auctions for the factory built versions, including the new Pro model). The kit contains everything needed to build the machine, apart from the plinth. It does include a perspex lid. It is not difficult to construct the plinth, and should be a doddle to anyone with DIY / woodworking skills. The second picture shows a made up wooden plinth, similar to the one you will be required to construct. Full DIY instructions / plans are provided and I am always here to give advice if you need it. This kit represents excellent value & offers a large saving on the price of a factory built machine. The Mark 2 version is a great improvement over the Mk 1, as it cleans bi-directionally, allowing the brush to 'get into the groove' (I think Madonna uses one) more efficiently. Gets rid of crackles, pops, static, fingermarks etc, and makes records sound 'cleaner' & with less surface noise. Even makes brand new records sound better as it gets rid of any mould release agent lurking in the bottom of the groove. This is particularly noticeable between tracks, which sounds obvious but what I am trying to explain is the 'CD like' total black silence. This really is an economical machine to run - 1 litre of fluid costs £17.50, and will clean around 1000 LP's. A spare cleaning brush is £12.00 (lasts for ages), and a pair of pads for the vacuum pipe are £5.00 & again these last for yonks. These are the only consumables you'll ever need & are readily available from me. I do recommend that following cleaning, records are put in a new anti-static sleeve to minimise any dust or static contamination. I supply these (Nagaoka sleeves) for £12.00 per 50 pack. As retailed the kit comes without fluid, however, I will provide the winning bidder with 250ml of fluid free of charge. Delivery is via insured courier. Any questions at all, just email me. 240v kit - I can't supply a 110v kit for at least another six weeks. Machine pictured is a factory built one. I have now had it confirmed that there will be a price increase shortly, which will obviously affect my opening bid price, so it may be advisable to get one sooner rather than later. Payments by PayPal will be subject to 4% surcharge to cover costs. On 27-Feb-03 at 15:58:56 GMT, seller added the following information:
