Exceptionally rare UK Demo/Promo from the iconic band. This record has hardly been played. Pink label with white large A and release date. Very few demos ever pressed (I was a record buyer for Keith Prowse Music in the late 1960's). Both sides written by Frank Zappa. 'Big Leg Emma' was the B side in the USA.
"Big Leg Emma" is a funny '50s-style shuffle built over a silly assonance: "There's a big dilemma about my Big Leg Emma." Simply one of those little things Zappa often used to lighten a set list, it was written in 1962 and first recorded in 1967. It appeared as the B-side to "Why Don'tcha Do Me Right?" The Mothers of Invention performed it occasionally between 1967 and 1970, but when Zappa made it a regular feature in 1977 nobody remembered it. Interestingly enough, it was meant to appear on the ill-fated Läther box set, immediately following the ultra-complex "The Black Page #1" (from sublime to stupid -- the man loved contrasts).
