Description

This is a fine copy from a 1976 U.S. reissue of the fifth LP by the Mothers of Invention, a double LP originally released in 1969 (though its contents were recorded in late '67-early '68).  Following the doo wop parody/tribute LP, Cruising with Ruben & the Jets, the group returned to the experimentalism of their prior releases, and produced a sprawling mashup of studio and concert recordings interspersed with audio vérité snippets from group members.  The side 4 suite, "King Kong," was a staple of the group's live shows at the time.  The gatefold jacket has a ½” saw mark, and is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(+).  Visually, the discs are clean.  Side 1 plays with occasional light surface noise, while sides 2-4 play with minimal surface noise (a strong M-) -- overall, then, M-.  The record comes with the original label inner sleeves.

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
