MOTLEY CRUE -TOO FAST FOR LOVE LEATHUR RECORDS original 3rd press LP NEARMINT
When Elektra re-released this record, they dropped a track, remixed it and supposedly had parts of it re recorded by the band
this is the original release THE BAND PUT OUT THEMSELVES..
the 3 different pressings of this LP on Motley's own Leathur Records are easy to tell apart
The first one has "Motley Crue" on the Cover in black and white, (all later pressings are in red)
The second pressing has "Motley Crue" in RED on the cover and white record labels
The third pressing changes the label to black and red.
That's the basic way to tell them apart
there are several other differences to these pressings noted below, most noticeably,
Vince's hair is in various states on back cover and insert and there are two entirely different insert photos.
LEATHUR RECORDS 3rd press LP - INSERT VARIATION #4 - PHOTO #2
- Matrix / Runout (A-side Etchings): LR/MC/C1281-1 JS Kendun S9074
- Matrix / Runout (B-side Etchings): LR/MC/C1281-2 JS Kendun S9075
- Band name and album title is written in red on the front cover.
- The record labels are black with red lettering. (this is only on third pressings)
- Nikki is pointing his arm straight out on the insert photo. (this is a totally different photo than in the first pressing insert)
- Vince's big hair has been fixed on the back cover and on the insert photo. The hair was touched up so it would show up against the white background,
- Insert photo is a little bit darker on the 2nd press inserts
actually the way we see it, it's 4 diff inserts not three like some people say., but it's confusing as to which one goes with which pressing unless you have all 4 variations in front of you. thankfully between these two copies we are NOW selling (this 3RD press and a 2ND pressing as well) and personal copies of other variations we count 4 different inserts
first one is first photo. (Nikki's arms crossed) Vince hair is retouched and too big - first press only
2nd one is first photo, (Nikki's arms crossed) Vince's hair is washed out / unretouched - used in 2nd press
3rd one is 2nd photo (with Nikki's arm pointing straight out) Vince's hair is washed out / unretouched. also used in 2nd press,
4th one is 2nd photo (Nikki's arm pointing straight out)Vince's hair is retouched as well as other bits like Mick's face. now darker and everything else is darker. - used in third press (THIS ONE PICTURED)
they probably made 1-2000 inserts at a time so they were able to keep "fixing" it as they ran out.
- Sunglasses on the back cover.
- Inner paperbag is white with big centerhole.
- On the inside of the cover there is a millimetre gap in the seam that you can't see from the outside.
- The inside of the cover is unbleached and has a light brown natural paper color look.
CONDITION of VINYL : Solidly within NEAR MINT no spindle marks. No one would consider this VG+ or VG++. it's NM.
CONDITION of SLEEVE: Near mint easily, take a look at many pictures, still in shrink wrap which has protected it well
WE DO NOT USE THE TERM "MINT" FOR ANYTHING THAT IS NOT STILL SEALED, OR VERIFIED ONE OWNER UNPLAYED (for music items MADE IN EUROPE), and NEAR MINT is not a term we use lightly. any imperfections are noted in detail when using this grade.________________________________________________________________________
