MOUNTAIN - 'CLIMBING!'. STEREO. (UK) BELL (silver/black labels). SBLL 133 (1970).
Very nice first UK press copy with vinyl in EX+/Near Mint condition. Fantastic heavy prog rock album. Such a HUGE sound and creamy tone from Leslie West's single pickup Gibson Les Paul Junior!
First, original UK pressing on the BELL label.
Non-laminated first issue sleeve grades full VG+ condition. EX+/NEAR MINT vinyl!
This is the earliest possible sleeve design made by Shorewood Packaging Co. Ltd, Aylesbury, England, Patents Pending. This earliest first issue sleeve design is slightly different to the slightly later subsequent issues in three ways:
The font along the spine is different, and the text in the top right area on the reverse of the sleeve differs. Also the print finish is slightly glossy, whereas the usual format has a matt quality to it. Fully intact and legible spine (see photos). This sleeve shows light to moderate storage and handling wear and slight creases. It looks like some areas have been carefully touched-in by a previous owner to maintain the black areas of the sleeve, so I'm grading the sleeve conservatively as VG/VG+ because of this. The prone-ness to wear and tear on this particular sleeve is extremely high, and this is probably one reason why they decided to change the sleeves print finish. This sleeve should probably pass as a VG+ or Ex- but I'm being very particular with the grading so as not to disappoint potential buyers. Labels show some slight signs of foxing (likely from long-term storage), but no visible spindle marks. The vinyl plays through beautifully and grades NEAR MINT!. Includes the original 'Patent No' plain paper inner sleeve.
Fantastic post-Cream-era guitar and bass from Leslie West and Felix Papparlardi. (Mountain continued the good work that Cream were doing).

The time has come for me to start selling off big chunks of my otherwise 'keeper' collection. Some of these records are incredibly hard to find in such superb condition. The records in my eBay listings are from my own personal record collection. I am not a record dealer. Some particular records I have bought two or three times over - just to get that special 'keeper' copy. These listings are the fruits of my collecting effort which spans over 25 years.

Regarding postage and shipping: I am not Amazon.com. I go to the post office once or possibly twice a week. During the holidays it will be increasingly painful, so be patient. "Priority mail" means it goes by air...it does not mean it goes out in the next hour. I have never had a package lost and have never had any complaints about packing - in fact my packaging rates among the best on eBay. I use cruciform mailers (usually doubled-up) and loads of parcel tape to ensure a strong package.

I have no need to use the words MEGA, ULTRA, or c**p on about how many of these LPs got trashed at parties. I try to avoid exhaustive usage of exclamation marks in my honest descriptions and I also avoid the over-use of CAPITAL letters (unless they are used for relevant emphasis to my auction description) and I do not wish to shout at my buyers. I know that you know about the records you wish to purchase. One other thing - I do not sell items which have had the opening edges of the cover trimmed by a guillotine or blade to make the covers appear in better condition. Some other sellers do this as a regular practice, and it's just not on.
