'Live - The Road Goes Ever On'

WITH FOUR studio albums under their belt the band felt a stop gap live album was in order despite the fact that the previous album contained one side of live material. Captured in all their glory, the band cartwheel through three numbers on side one including a brilliant rendition of 'Crossroader' which is virtually a tribute, ahem, to the mighty Cream. Side two is reserved for just one track a seventeen minute version of the collosal Mountain anthem 'Nantucket Sleighride' - arguably one of the era's greatest hard rock anthems (and the theme to 'Weekend World', the great seventies political TV programme).
Leslie West is on fire during these performances - his aching soloing sitting on top of some of the heaviest and powerful riffing of the early seventies.
Tough to score decent copies of this one as it didn't sell very well and the cover is very prone to wear and tear.

Vinyl: Superb clean condition. Some very faint spindle marks on labels and no other signs of use. Grades as a very nice MINT-!
Cover: Light signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated (by Gail Collins, wife of Felix Pappalardi) cover. Sharp corners (a couple display micro rubbing), no dings, no bends, extremely light almost invisible ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is straight, stiff and uncrushed with original pinches top and bottom. Impossible to find like this 42 years after release. Grades as top Ex+
