MOUNTAIN, ‘NANTUCKET SLEIGHRIDE’, AN ORIGINAL 1971 UK ISLAND RECORD LABEL LP, CAT No, –ILPS-9148.
Mountain is an American rock band that formed in Long Island, New York in 1969. Originally comprising vocalist and guitarist Leslie West, bassist/vocalist Felix Pappalardi, keyboardist Steve Knight and drummer N. D. Smart, the band broke up in 1972 and has reunited frequently since 1973, remaining active today. Best known for their cowbell-tinged song "Mississippi Queen", as well as for their performance at the famous Woodstock Festival in 1969, Mountain is one of many bands to be commonly credited as having influenced the development of heavy metal music in the 1970s. The LP is on the rare Pink Rim *ISLAND* Palm Tree Record Labels, with circled P date 1971.
Both record labels are in Mint Minus condition, super clean record labels with signs of just a couple of plays.
The LP plays without faults through all the Tracks.
The Matrix, side1, ILPS 9148 A-1U, side2, ILPS 9148 B-1U.
The Mother Stampers,side1, 1 GP , side2, 1 GH.
Both sides of the superb vinyl LP are in beautiful Mint Minus condition, super clean glossy well cared for vinyl surfaces with nothing more than a couple of hairlines.
The LP is housed in it’s original laminated Gatefold Picture Sleeve and is in superb Near Mint condition. This sleeve has no major damage, showing mild signs of record storage to the reverse, and a few laminate pinches.
A superb example of this collectable UK album release from Mountain.
