THE TITLE came from an old term used by North East American whaling boats, harponing a whale and then being dragged along as it tries to escape. That's a great description of the music actually - waves of thrashing guitar and huge thunderous riffs. Arguably Mountain's greatest achievement, certainly their most rounded, and a record that went on to influence a number of other great hard rock artsists including Montrose.
Its all here; swaves of cut 'n thrust guitar rock, chunky riffs, long extended jams and beautiful melodies from a team of men that had carved out a niche in heavy blues rock to rival the British lead of Zeppelin, Free and Cream. Indeed, if there was one band that Mountain eluogised then it was certainly the latter - bassist Felix Pappalardi had even produced a couple of Cream albums. Great titles: 'Trauma', 'Tired Angels', 'Travellin' In The Dark', 'The Great Train Robbery' and, my personal favourite, 'The Animal Trainer And The Toad'.

Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. Some faint spindle marks visible on labels and only light signs of other use - a few wispy scuff marks. Audio playback is superb. Grades as MINT-!
Cover: Again, only light signs of any use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated (by Gail Collins) fully laminated gatefold cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is straight, stiff and uncrushed. Displays a little handling and storage wear. Grades as MINT-!
