Description

This is a fine copy of a 1998 comp on the Beat Rocket label of singles and previously unreleased tracks by the Mourning Reign.  The group were from San Jose, California, and shared bills with better known hometown groups like the Count Five, the Syndicate of Sound, and the Chocolate Watch Band.  They released two 45s during their brief (1966-67) existence, both of which are included here.  Like the Count Five, their sound was strongly influenced by contemporary British groups: their second single was a cover of the Yardbirds' "Evil Hearted You," and among the unreleased tracks are versions of the Who's "Run Run Run" and Cream's "Tales of Brave Ulysses."  The jacket is close to M- with a crease and mild curvature along the spine on the back cover (EX+).  The 180g vinyl disc is clean with a little light scuffing, and plays with minimal surface noise (M-).

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
