RARE 1st ORIGINAL 1971 FRENCH PRESS by this French band playing in Soft Machine vein. Rarely surfaces.

GRADING:

LP Record Set: VG++ ~ Excellent - has a couple of faint paper scuffs visible under bright light on both sides (nothing too serious, no scratches or deep damage, just superficial lines) but plays NM all way through

Some words on this issue: MOVING GELATINE PLATES: “S/T” (CBS – S-64399) (Record: Excellent/ Jacket: Excellent). Bloody scare 1st album, and this is the even rarer French pressing. First album by this French quartet heavily influenced by Soft Machine during their initial period and early times Frank Zappa & Mothers of Invention madness. Progressive sax leads mutate with heavy organ riffage, arrhythmic drumming patterns and wrist slashing guitar accompaniment. This was their first LP; one more would follow before the band called it quits. Amazing debut album, as good as the 4 first Soft Machine LP’s although the Moving Gelatine Plates were a bit more on the frantic side of playing, guitar leads are nasty, the organ is just dangerous. Venomous twists and turns take the music all over the place; this is a disc to wrap your senses around. Totally brilliant. 1st original French pressings are rare and next to impossible to dig up. Dutch pressings are common, but…everyone is after a clean French one. Here is one, beautiful original copy and 1/2 the price of a mint one. Great condition.
