Description
When a vinyl record goes into production, there is a process.
First, the music is mastered for vinyl.
Second, vinyl mothers are cut, they are a hard waxy material.
Third, metal stampers are molded off of the wax mother.
It is the metal stampers that press the vinyl into actual records for your listening pleasure...
A set of stampers lasts for about 1500 records...sometimes less, sometimes more, depends on the vinyl color (colored vinyl blows them out faster than black, i don't know why).
This auction is for:
ONE SET OF 7" METAL STAMPERS
FOR THE MR-056 MAN'S RUIN split RELEASE by the bands-
side A) SEX PISTOLS "No Feelings"
side B) LOS SOFISTICATOS "New York Rocket" & "Groovy"
NO RECORD IS INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION!
THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE STAMPERS ONLY!
This release was done in conjunction with a label in Canada called Other People's Music...the guy who owned it got his hands on these previously unreleased early versions of some SEX PISTOLS songs and they paired them up with other weird punk bands from the era and released them in limited quantities.
The LOS SOFISTICATOS tracks were recorded in 1978!
Classic CANADIAN PUNK ROCK tm, c&p.
7"'s, black vinyl, silkscreened sleeves (with MANY different sleeve color variations)...one of the weirder projects that Man's Ruin got involved with, this record is a piece of Punk History...the stampers would add that special something to any collection...
The stampers are real, genuine, these were used by the record plant to manufacture this record for Man's Ruin Records.
Stampers are generally destroyed by the vinyl plant when they burn out, at the approval of the record label. Man's Ruin pulled theirs when they went "bad" and saved them. Stampers are RARE and VERY COOL.
A MUST HAVE FOR COLLECTORS!!!
