A stupendous Faulkner/Hatch recording for Hyperion, MUSIC FOR BRASS AND PERCUSSION features The London Brass Virtuosi under the direction of David Honeyball.
Captured in 1985 in St. Barnabas’s Church, North Finchley, the brass and percussion here will astound you, as you witness first-hand, Copland FANFARE FOR THE COMMON MAN, Grieg FUNERAL MARCH, Janacek SOKOL FANFARE, Ralph Vaughan Williams HENRY V OVERTURE, Britten RUSSIAN FUNERAL, and Holst A MOORSIDE SUITE.
A royal treat, this one, brand new, factory sealed.
Listen for the Yamaha tenor and baritone saxhorns here, as they exhibit a certain thrilling “crunch” of tone, if you will. Stunning stuff.
