"My Bonnie" b/w "The Saints" recorded by Tony Sheridan & The Beatles released on Polydor NH66833.
During The Beatles second stint in Hamburg they regularly backed English singer/guitarist Tony Sheridan. It was during one of these sessions that a friend of Bert Kaempfert saw them and suggested that Bert should record them. The recording took place, not in a studio, but on a Hamburg school stage. "My Bonnie" was chosen by Polydor for release as a single in Germany. It was released in the UK on the 5th of January 1962.. It caused a stir in The Beatles' home town of Liverpool where it sold quite well and was instrumental in bringing the boys to the attention of Brian Epstein. Nationally it did not reach the charts until June 1963 when the highest position it achieved was No: 48.
The vinyl really is in great condition with only the faintest 'crackling' that does not interfere with the audio quality on either side. NH66833 AV1v is in the run out on side 1 with NH66833 Bv1v on side 2. There are no marks or writing on the labels and only the slightest evidence of wear to the spindle holes. I am sure that most dealers out there would rate this as excellent.
It comes with the Polydor scroll sleeve on which is printed 'Made In England'. Please see my photographs.
