MYSTERIOUS MINDS (aka Mystic Minds):Mind Over Matter (SMOA/1975)
Amazing weird psych/funk LP released by a California trio, whom I've seen referred to as Korean War veterans (though I don't know where this comes from). Enough grooves and beats are contained in the 7 songs to set any rave spinning out of control.
However, the highlight is the self-made Brass Orchestra Cabinet. This is a portable pipe unit that looks like one one of those contraptions you see dolphins playing at a seaworld show. It creates an unworldly horn section like nothing heard before that makes gives this LP its one of a kind sound.
Read, if you dare, the back cover liner notes (see scan) and learn of the New Worlds Reality and how this music will help you attain it. Stare at the vortex on the front, and fall under its hypnotic spell (you are getting sleepy. you will buy this record now!)
There was a limited reissue of this a few years ago. This copy is one of only 3 known originals. One other original sold recently here for much more than my reserve. This is an album that can be appreciated by funksters, psychsters & incredibly strange music fans.
The cover is in Ex condition (slight hint of beginning of a split on top seam; corners slightly dented; small white spot in upper right corner). The record looks Ex (a few light hairlines on each side), plays Mint minus.
