Description

This is a fine copy of a 1991 comp of the rare self-released singles by Long Island group the Mystic Tide, released between 1965-67.  The group early on were heavily indebted to British groups like Them and the Zombies -- their second single was called "Mystic Eyes," though it's a different song from Them's -- then gradually started experimenting with improvisation (the LP liner notes cite the Butterfield Blues Band's East-West as their primary inspiration).  The latter trend led to their two stunning 1967 singles, "Frustration" and "Running Through the Night," each backed by half of an extended instrumental jam called "Psychedelic Journey."  This comp contains all five of their singles, and adds an unreleased studio track from early 1965.  The Distortions label re-released all of these tracks along with more outtakes on CD a few years later, but this is the only vinyl release to date to collect them in one place.  The jacket is all but M- with mild curvature from storage and a little light creasing (EX+).  The disc has a few small pocks or divots in the vinyl on side 2 that have no appreciable effect on play that I can detect.  Otherwise it's clean (the record was purchased new and played just a few times), and the source discs play with some light surface noises.  Though the pocks seem harmless, I'll assign the disc a visual grading of EX+.

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
