Description
Up for bid is a genuine acoustically-recorded 78rpm record of Madamme "Ma" Rainey from 1923. The "A" side, "Bad Luck Blues," is the first side Ma Rainey recorded, with matrix number 1596. The flip side is "Those All Night Long Blues" with matrix number 1599. Both sides are stamped as take 2.
The condition can be best described as "fair." Lots of scratches and scuffs, but when played on a vintage Victrola the music comes through nice and loud despite everything. Both sides play though without skips, and the record is not warped or cracked.
The postal rate quoted here is for U.S. MediaMail, good for shipping within the US only. International rates will be higher, so if you are an international bidder please inquire before bidding. Please note that I will not ship to Italy.
Ask me any questions you may have, look over the photos I have provided, think it over, then bid. Though I have described this record accurately, there is no warranty either expressed or implied: it is being sold "as-is." Thank you for your interest, and good luck bidding.
