Ultra Rare Original UK 7" White Label Test Pressing on Sire W9260
Here is an auction for a rarely (never?) seen UK white label 7" issue of Madonna - Borderline cat no. W9260. This copy features a white label on the side & a blank (no label) on the B-side.
This copy originates from the Polygram/Phonogram pressing plant, which was used by labels belonging to the WEA group of record labels in the UK mostly from 1984 - May 1988. They pressed the majority of Madonna's 7" records sold in the UK during this period with either paper or moulded injection labels.
This never seen before white label test pressing has the distinctive raised 'ridge' around the label and the matrix numbers W9260 A//1 420V and W9260 B//1 420V. It also has 'Bazza' in the A-Side run out grooves, indicating it was mastered by Porky Prime in London.
Condition is a strong VG due to FINE scuffs and VERY light marks visible only under a strong light on both sides from being handled/played. Otherwise the record has a nice sheen and looks/plays great.
