Description
For sale is Madonna's Like A Virgin, originally released in 1984 by Sire Records as a promotional copy with a gold stamp on the front cover. In the dead wax between the label and the last track is etched "Masterdisk" and "RL" followed by the matrix numbers SH-2/SH-4, indicating that the record was mastered at Masterdisk Studios, N.Y.C. by Robert Ludwig and an early stamper was used to make this first edition. These are all hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering with superior sound quality sought after by collectors and music lovers. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it away into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is Near Mint. The cover is Near Mint. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, and play graded as Near Mint. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. This record has become very rare, especially as a promotional first edition. This is the best copy of this album that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find another one like this one.
