We are publishing another very special extra with our December issue. With MUSIKEXPRESS 12/24, we are releasing a song on vinyl that changed the world 40 years ago: "Like A Virgin" by none other than the Queen of Pop, Madonna. It is a faithful replica of the black 7-inch single from 1984, Madonna Louise Ciccone's first megaseller.

The A-side features "Like A Virgin", her first No. 1 hit in the USA, which reached number four in Germany and number three in the UK. The B-side is "Stay", the closer from the corresponding album LIKE A VIRGIN.

Madonna's performance of "Like A Virgin" at the MTV Video Music Awards on 14 September 1984 had an immense impact and is considered as a turning point in pop culture. Her portrayal of an innocent bride, also sexually confident, broke with traditional gender roles and expectations towards women. An unprecedented milestone in feminism - shocking and inspiring. At the same time, Madonna presented a perfect pop song that has held a firm place in our collective memory for decades and made entire generations dance.
