Description
For sale is Mahavishnu Orchestra's Between Nothingness & Eternity, originally released by Columbia Records in 1973 as a promotional copy with a timing strip on the front cover. Inside the dead wax between the last tracks and the labels are the matrix numbers 1-A/1-A, signifying that a first stamper was used to make this first pressing. This is a hallmark of superior sound, sought after by collectors and music lovers. I bought this album used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. Doing this has preserved the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may has come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as VG because of ring wear, edge rubs, corner blunts and stress cracks along the spine. The spine has color loss from the stress cracks and blunts. The Vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus because of very faint sleeve marks. I'm play grading this as Near Mint. This is still one of the best copies of this album that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, especially a first pressing promotional copy. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
