Mahler – Symphony No. 2 – Mehta – Vienna Philharmonic – King Super Analogue

This is a very nice stereo 180g pressing of Zubin Mehta and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera Chorus performing Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” as issued by King Super Analogue (catalog number KIJC-9139/40). The soloists are Christa Ludwig (mezzo-soprano) and Ileana Cotrubas (soprano). The recording was originally recorded by London Records in 1975 and this reissue is from 1994 and was pressed in the USA. The record is from my personal collection and was initially cleaned on a VPI record vacuum and treated with Last Record preservative. It was re-cleaned with an Audio Desk Ultra-sonic record cleaner and demagnetized.  The record was recently play-graded using a Lyra Kleos cartridge on a VPI Classic IV turntable. 
Record 1 is in very good condition while record 2 is mint-. Record 1 has a 2” hairline scratch in the middle of the side and some streaks in the vinyl.  I noted 38 random light ticks over the side but only about 8 light ticks in the area of the scratch.  Side 2 has some streaks in the vinyl but not scuffs or scratches with 11 light ticks noted over the entire side. Side 3 has no scuffs or scratches with 8 light ticks noted over the entire side.  Side 4 also has no scuffs or scratches with only 6 light ticks noted.  
The gatefold jacket is in excellent condition with no seam splits, ring wear, but has some slight compression on the upper right and lower left corners. The OBI is in mint- condition with no bends or tears. There are notes in Japanese inside the gatefold jacket instead of having a separate insert sheet.  The German text is also included with a Japanese translation. The Super Analogue Disc sheet is in Japanese on one side and English on the other and is in mint- condition. The LPs are housed in the standard heavy plastic outer sleeve with the gold seal on the back.
