Description

This is a very nice copy of Classic Records 180g test pressing of Fritz Reiner’s recording of Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on one double-sided 180g record. Lisa Della Casa is the soloist on the last movement. The pressing date is “Oct 25 1995” and is stamped “LSC-2364 A2/B1”. When I first bought it new, the record was cleaned with a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative.  More recently it was recleaned with Audio Intelligent Fluids on a VPI cleaner and on an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner.  It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag.  It plays with very little surface noise with only a few light ticks here and there over the two sides.  There are no scratches on the record.  I have only played the record a few times on various VPI tables I have owned (HW-19 MKIV, TNT 3.5, and Classic 4) using either Lyra or Benz Mico Ruby cartridges. The covers is a plain white jacket with the date and matrix number information stamped on the upper right corner.  There no seam splits or other disfigurements.  Only side one of the LP has a label which indicates it is a “Test Pressing” pressed by RTI along with the matrix information and date.  Side two has a blank white label. I purchased this new from Classic Records about 15 years ago when they were selling off their test pressings.    Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
