Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +21,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. - QUITE SCARCE as one might imagine ...
- 1966 TEEN SCENE SURVIVOR COLOMBIA , S.A.
- Colombian rock and roll group Los Yetis’ self-titled first LP reflects a whole lotta teen-scene sixties charm and appeal containing plenty of primitive basement production, ye-owww!
This authentic real deal first print is rare indeed, released only in the far-off land in 1966 where jungle rhythms radiated the Yetis' warmth and grooves.
The YETIS' took on well preformed classic jukebox-60's tracks and then top off the lot of them with an explosive original number. “I CAN'T STAND YOU ANYMORE” when the group packs a more powerful punch on this garage rocker more than any other song on the album!! The tempo is high and the melody is hot; the vocals occasionally dip down into gritty growls. It’s the album’s brightest and most exciting highlight, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. There are plenty of other good tunes along the way.
Hot dance beats open the album’s first track, a crowd-pleasing jammer “Shimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Bop”. After a couple of melodic dreamers, suddenly “El Juego del Amor” brings a wild energy as the inspired Los Yetis' teens start off with a few wordless shouts and then throw out each line with devil-may-care swagger; Los Yetis’ get a little tighter, not just because of more minimal production but because the group moves together so well. Closing out the A side is a speedy rendition of the Beatles’ “Help!” to keep the dance floor alive and hopping.
By the B side, all signs of gentle swaying are out of the picture. “La Bamba” swings into high gear, setting the tone for the rest of the album. Even heartbreak ballad “Tú me dijiste adiós” (originally by 60's rock legends Los Brincos), for all its melancholy, maintains momentum so that the group can move seamlessly back into the quicker grooves of “Por qué te Vas” and a loud, no-holds-barred performance of “Love Potion Number Nine”, sounding fresher and lighter. It’s a perfect close to the covers section of the record, and one hard to sit still for. Climax time with “I CAN'T STAND YOU ANYMORE”, as the band then lets loose with a final, show-stopping burst of HIGH energy.
Granted, the golden era sixties plays a large role in appreciating Los Yetis, just as it does with so many of the 60's gems we seek. But local 1960s garage-rocker teens covering the Beatles were teens dreaming of hitting it BIG, and Los Yetis comes across as the genuine article. That’s not just rosy retrospection talking; Colombian label Discos Fuentes initially selected the YETIS' for a compilation of young inspired Colombian bands across Colombia that it led to this, their FIRST 1966 debut LP and a career that would see Los Yetis be one of the leaders in the entire Colombian psychedelic rock scene of the 1960s.
Los Yetis marks a solid start, yet perhaps the best part of listening to the LP is knowing how much potential the band would capitalize over its brief and charming career when recognizing that Los Yetis #1 was a flamethrower in some serious trailblazing by the now in demand garage-beat rock band from Colombia, S.A.

- CONDITION:
- The cover: rated: VG manageable 1966 original (look) highly delicate thin cover, 1966, teen artifact = lucky to survive 58 years later.
- Despite stained (aged) tape on top & bottom seams, prior use is visible, though like the real image of posted here, collectible, especially the vinyl being superior to the cover and overall enjoyable play grade. Finding any better in any condition would be quite difficult.
- The vinyl: Rated: VG+(+) light past use, few light (top surface hair scuffs) not scratched to cause excessive noise, pretty well kept overall despite the cover visuals ... the vinyl plays enjoyable and rated a keeper copy Colombia 1966
