Making Believe / If Heartache is the Fashion. Jim Reeves 78rpm record, South African pressing, generic RCA  sleeve. Rare collectors item never printed on 78 in the US. 71.371.


While 78 RPM records generally stopped being printed in the US between 1957 and 1958 in favor of 45 rpm single, 78s continued to be printed in other parts of the world that had large numbers of 78rpm players, notable in South Africa, Rhodesia and India. There result is 78rpm records by artists such as Elvis Presley, Chubby Checker and Jim Reeves never printed in the US up toas late as 1964 in some places. This is one of these 78s.


Additionally, Jim Reeves was enormously popular in South Africa, even releasing albums in South Africa that were never released elsewhere.
