Description

Mal Waldron, "Free At Last" (ECM Records #1001) Now VERY HARD-TO-FIND original German import LP, very early release from fabled ECM Records, by the legendary pianist and composer, Mal Waldron. This is his most driving, rhythm-oriented release, and also what Mal describes in the liner notes as "my meeting with free jazz." With Isla Eckinger (bass) and Clarence Becton (drums). The cover is VG+, with a price sticker and a 1/4 inch clip in the upper right hand corner, either indicating that this was a promo or cut-out (most likely the former, but I can't be sure). The German vinyl is Mint-minus. Sight graded. Strict grading. And the music is compelling.
