Description
This auction is for an original copy of the first LP released by Manfred Mann's Chapter Three incarnation in 1969 on the Vertigo label, i.e. complete with the Vertigo "swirl" on Side A and also on the inner sleeve. Catalogue No. is VO 3 847 902 VTY.
The group for this recording were Mike Hugg (Piano, Vocals), Manfred Mann (Organ (police whistle), Bernie Living (Alto Flute), Steve York (Fender Bass - guitar-harp) and Craig Collinge (Drums).
I bought this in 1969 and it has been with me ever since, albeit not played a great deal and also not really cared for very carefully but neither was it abused!
The LP I would consider to be in VG+ condition, it is clean with no obvious marks or scratches anywhere. There is some evidence of spindle marks in the middle, but not very noticeable, there is no damage to the record there, and the labels are clean with no writing on them. The tracks all play exceptionally well with some very light crackling / static between tracks.

The matrix information imprinted on the LP is as follows :
Side A --- 847902 followed by 1 Y // 3 ? 420 followed by 1 1 and further along a 7.
Side B --- 847902 followed by 2 Y // 3 ? 420 followed by 1 1 and further along a 2.
I haven't been able to find any information on the "first pressing" so I can't it is, all I know is that I bought it not long after it was released.
This LP has a gatefold sleeve which has an amount of wear consistent with it being about 46 years old. The wear is most notable on the spine and the edges, where it is clearly worn - this wear can be seen in the photos (which I do think exaggerates it a little). There is an imprint of the disc on the back, some distortion to the inside of the gatefold caused by the disc, and a slight fold at the bottom right had corner - which, also, can be seen in the photo.
