It all started with the Calvary Chapel movement in So. California. When I first learned about Calvary Chapel, their ministry was in a small church, but quickly out-grew the church building and moved services to a tent in a parking lot. That tent kept growing bigger and bigger, and crowds kept coming to overflowing capacity.
I know... I was there! 1970-1973
