Here we have the Mars Volta’s colored maxi single of Frances the Mute. This 12” record was released in 2005 by Gold Standard Laboratories in a marbled Seafoam green. Gorgeous.

Side A is the song Frances the Mute. It was intended to be the first act in the story (and therefore the first song in the album) but was not there on the CD due to space reasons. "Frances the Mute"s lyrics appears on the inside of the album's CD tray liner.
Side B was recorded live at the Wiltern Theater (3790 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA) on May 6, 2004 when the band performed this haunting and beautiful acoustic version of The Widow.

There are a few light surface wear marks on each side, cuz that’s how I found it in that one Portland record store back in the day. But I’ve rarely played it, and when I have, like just now, both sides have sounded great.
