Marshall Crenshaw Field Day
Field Day is the second studio album by rocker Marshall Crenshaw, originally released in June of 1983. It was the follow-up to Crenshaw’s debut, which was moderately successful. Field Day was produced by Steve Lillywhite, but was not a commercial success. The single, “Whenever You’re On My Mind” was not a hit, but has fared well with time and has become one of Crenshaw’s more popular songs.
Test pressings are produced by record companies to test the pressings of albums before going into full production. Sometimes they would be used to get music out to publications for review due to lead times, facilitating timely reviews with street dates. The amount of tests pressed varied on the amount of people required to hear a record for quality assurance and/or publications being serviced.
What you are bidding on is a test pressing of Marshall Crenshaw’s Field Day (vinyl in near mint condition). The test pressing also includes an attached Label Copy document detailing song titles, timings, songwriters, publishing and additional record company information housed in a plain white sleeve with a hole that facilitates seeing the label. Will ship media mail with additional insurance.
