Description

Promo copy and first US pressing of Martin Gore’s 1989 Counterfeit EP. Sleeve shows some wear. Vinyl is near mint. Comes in a protective clear sleeve.


After Depeche Mode broke through in a huge way with Music for the Masses, Gore made this six-track album of cover songs by artists who had influenced him. Among them are Birmingham post-punker Joe Crow (“Compulsion), Bay Area punk/art-rockers Tuxedo Moon (“In A Manner of Speaking”), ambient guitarist Vini Willy of The Durutti Column (“Smile in the Crowd”), Sheffield mope-rockers Comsat Angels (“Gone”) and the unpredictable New Wave weirdos Sparks “Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth.”)
