ASSISTIVE NOTE:
To give the best "map" for this sale, we'll have 27 leading off to give somewhat of a highlight of each area of items, then onto 1) Gospel, to 2) AOR Gospel, 3) Secular AOR, into 4) the biggest part Modern Soul / Boogie / Electro / New Jack Swing / Street Soul / Indie R&B, within each of the four sections, it will tend to be chronological, earliest year listed first, with some exceptions (including multiples by same artist), meaning listed newest will be the tail end, ending earliest is the beginning (if you filter by "ending soonest", you'll get the layout!), we hope this might help :)

Media Grade: VG- (Mostly storage scuffs, paper sleeve marks, still retains gloss, largely music overpowers, would rate much higher with a desperately needed VPI cleaning, even to VG or VG+ playback, peep the soundclips!)
Sleeve Grade: VG- (water damage remnants staining on front cover, far lighter discoloration, rippling bottom of back cover, remains remarkably solid structurally, intact, a decent salvaged copy, see photos!)
Year / Label / Catalogue #: 1986 / Miami Gospel Sound / MGS-0186 (1st press, stereo, *note labels are flipped from track listing on back jacket, so Side One is Side B, and Side Two is Side A)
Brief Comments: Probably the last still out in the wild.... So since last summer's Gospel / Boogie sale, in trying to track down another copy, given how many people messaged after the one ended, (Korg Synthesizer, whose synthesizer was made heavy use on this, reached out, someone saw it and hit up Korg, they were excited about the impressiveness of their synths, but no free Korg sadly....), I began a nearly year long odyssey to find any more, I even gave up before New Year's, only to hear back from a son of one of the Choir ladies (mercifully, living up Jacksonville, since 1989), who said this one had been rescued from flooding, but I could have it if I wanted (I let him know it's value, but he loaded me up with two boxes of various other flood damaged records, and said as long as I would get them away, we're good, none of the other records in varying state of condition were really worth keeping, Guy's second album was still in nice shape, the vinyl, not the jacket, so I have a loss copy of that, and a "Digi" Reggaeton 12" that is obscure but not the best musically, I threw away the generic jacket for that, the rest, well let's just say a Steak N' Shake may or may not have received a load of moldy records in their dumpster, far away from it all....
Anyhow, the amount of "no copy, no copy" to "that record even got pressed?" was overwhelming, I did learn a little bit about a scandal, but I'm not going to reprint it here, just sometimes you can be promoted a very young Elder, so you'll look the other way, not want to know, as if the kind of stuff, not illegal, but "immoral" wasn't going to happen anyways, and you get a nice Korg Synthesizer out of the deal, your own share of temptation from very nice Church Ladies, maybe some of the Deacons in charge of Church Money aren't being on the level, and quietly in your dismay, you wonder how it could be....how it could get to this state of affairs, and you know, by now, you know, they made you Elder, so you can take any, all of the hits, for everything, smile in your face, laugh behind your back....What can you do? They'll be ready to denounce you, as "Icarus", flying too high, maybe whispers come out, "why is Elder Boy Wonder Maurice making an album, for himself no less, anyways?" -(not true, accurate, really), but start on folks who wanted to be put on, who didn't make the cut, let the whispers get a life, "why he spend so much time with Mrs. Annie, Mrs. Married Annie! What could they be doing in that office with the Couch after hours?", "Why that child barely old enough to shave, and why is that big titty Millie, who you already know about, why is she up front, why I heard...!", "Elder Slick Willie sure is driving a nice new Sports Car, taking sister Linda "home" while she's back from College, makes you sure do wonder, from what I've been hearing...", "Maurice seems to have fat pockets, taking Mrs. Annie for steak and Lobster, with Millie as well, you know at the restaurant I hear at that nice hotel by the Beach....What happened exactly to the money for new pews, from the collection anyhow?", - so it goes, and maybe parts of some have bits of truth, but the real "action", the real "taking, cheating, stealing, fornicating" is the same older, savvier "Brothers" who helped make you Elder, and you don't have "proof", they might have a photo of you eating a dinner, completely harmless, but construed badly as rumors fly.... All I'm saying, is maybe a Young Man, with a good heart, creative gifts, who wanted to do good, also had normal human weakness, maybe a young unmarried woman his age, and you're both unmarried, so who is that hurting? You realize, through the grapevine, this is going to end badly, you're going to get set-up, but maybe all the rumors end, if certain Church Members get an open license to steal from the collection, to take, take, use the Church Finances, if you play ball.... So you can't stay, but you can't turn the tables on them, so you gotta leave, in the middle of the night, with a small bit of $ from actual close friends, maybe a Church Lady who knows, has even less power, but wants to see you get away safe....and that's that.
Maybe then, that record, in small quantities to begin with, people who don't want to be associated, whether they believe what happened or not, toss them out, no one wants to be seen with it. Maybe a few keep a copy, who were involved, know the Young Elder to be a man of character, keep it buried, as time goes by, it naturally disappears, lost in moves, basement / attic cleaning, floods, fires, whatever it be, until there's no more.
Might just be the last one, period, not in a collection.
Peep the soundclips :)
*Tariffs aren't going to impact used vinyl records / music media, we wish they were never in place at all, so for international buyers, don't worry on that account!
For our record grading, we stand by the merits outlined in the scale below, anything VG or below will have a detailed explanation in brackets next to the grade.
For sleeves, we will mention anytime there is split, or defect not visible in the photos in brackets next to the grade, otherwise we refer to the photos for the merit of the grade. Of course any questions, concerns, are always welcome :)
Our media grading scale is as follows: [*Quick note, our VPI is still in storage on the other side of the US, we do brush clean many items carefully, but we have to prioritize, we won't leave anyone stranded with a filthy record, only "filthy" good! We don't factor dust particles into the grading]
NM = Essentially a pristine album, like new, rarely used.
EX = Under bright light if there is any scuffs or mark, which will be inaudible, most collectors and sellers would tend to consider it closer to NM, EX is also the grade others might call VG++ under the same level of conservative scrutiny.
VG+ = More then a small handful of scuffs, light marks, nothing feelable, will have high-gloss, a thoroughly enjoyable copy that may only have tiny moments of barely perceptible surface noise overpowered by the music. Our VG+ will satisfy the vast majority of collectors as a nice keeper copy, as collector's ourselves for nearly two decades, this grade is aimed to be a great keeper. Note if say the record has a light DNAP warp, but otherwise is NM, we will automatically put it to VG+ and detail that. Another scenario is if a copy plays at a solid EX, but visually is VG, the composite grade will be VG+, and detailed as such.
VG = More hairlines, more marks, maybe a few visible scratches, no more then two feelable scratches (which automatically lowers to VG-), there likely will be surface noise, but will play through, still being an enjoyable copy, the audio quality will satisfy most collector's (the golden rule: if it doesn't satisfy us, it won't be VG), if a record is otherwise EX, but has a slight momentary skip, where 99% of the record is EX, we will note that, and put it at VG. Usually will retain a nice gloss.
VG- = More Scratches than VG, surface noise will jump out more, it be overpowered for longer stretches, or compete with the music in places, it will likely play all the way through on most turntables, a copy that you can still get a decent play enjoyment from.
G+ = Lots of scratches, deeper ones, surface noise now mostly overpowers or competes with the music. It may skip in some places. We don't tend to sell G+ copies, unless the rarity is so great, and that will be precisely detailed.
Thrashed = Pretty much a "Theoretical Grade" for us, it be for all intents & purposes virtually unplayable, it would be for display purposes, or perhaps if you needed the cover but not the record. It's "theoretical" because so far we haven't sold or identified anything intended to sell at this bottom level.
Every item is guaranteed to YOUR satisfaction, no questions asked, 100% refund. We stand by our integrity, our goal is to make sure you are absolutely delighted with your purchase, to deliver a cherished album to your collection :). On the slightest chance of human error, if we make a mistake, we take accountability for that, we don't anyone to have a record they aren't happy with! Bid with confidence :)
If you have multiple items, please wait for us to combine shipping for you! We can combine up to 4 items for the standard shipping rate, and save you $ on additional items. We don't charge a single penny over what the shipping costs, so you are paying only the amount the postal service receives!
Default shipping is USPS media mail, USPS International mail. If you prefer a different carrier, or expedited shipping, please message us before payment, so we can set up the invoice for you :)
We have it set to 5 day shipping / handling time, as a just in case, typically about 98.7% of our orders are shipped out the day of payment (first day the post office is open), with the vast majority being the second day. We'll message on the extraordinary off-chance if doesn't go out on Tuesday (our auctions mostly ending on Saturdays, Sundays), with the reason and day it will go out, so far that's only happened once on a giant order, and all was well.
