Just like everybody else, I saw that baggage wars or whatever show where the hippy couple found one of these and the guy said that only 20 or 25 had surfaced. I suppose that is because there are so many people like me who never thought about having anything rare.
This is the one, amazingly.
Bought in Casper, Wyoming in 1964, probably at Woolworth's, maybe at the record store at Hilltop. I was a junior, my brother a senior, at NCHS. The first thing my brother did with any record was throw away the inner liner. But, he played this so rarely it is in really good shape. He recorded everything to reel-to-reel back in those days and then tucked the record away.
So - yes it has been played. No, there are no skips that I can find; no obvious scratches, I included pictures so you can see shiny for yourself; but, do you know how hard it is to take a good picture of a vinyl record? Wow, unbelievably more difficult than you would think.
No ASCAP, no BMI, Scranton pressing 3 on the back cover, stereo, tan Beatles! on the front, all that stuff. Of course I would like to have $2200, but I'm not stupid - I know that would be for an unplayed album probably in the shrink wrap (although it wasn't really shrink wrap back then). It's still in better shape than most of what people seem to be offering, and I will give you your money back if it isn't what I say it is. $400 on Paypal and I will lovingly pad it, wrap it, and send it by USPS Mail today. Or, drop a bid and see what you can get it for. I don't care now or then, but if you want one for your collection and don't have a couple of grand to drop, this is the one to go for.
