Description
MEET THE BEATLES" album (mono T2047) . Very rare as it is the Beatles first album to have a paste over, that is, beneath the front cover slick is a completely different album! The only other time this occurred in Beatles history was with the famous Butcher album cover. This jacket is in near perfect condition with no lifting.
CONDITION:
This album looks as though it has been played only a couple of times, it is beautiful. The vinyl itself is NM in my eyes. The labels are a very strong VG+ - in fact, they look Near Mint minus. The labels are free of any stickers or writing.
The original Capitol inner sleeve comes with the record, the second style they used in 1964, the light blue vs the dark blue variety with an ad for 12 other LPs on one side and 8 on the other. The condition of the inner sleeve is in VG+ condition
The album jacket is in VG condition. What it does NOT have is any tape, writing, or seam splits.
I will attempt here to identify the variations of this album (letter/number schemes are per Bruce Spizers incredibly detailed books about all the Beatles records).
The record label is the third generation, CAP 2047.MR3A, with side 1 having 2 BMI credits and 4 ASCAP credits after the song titles. Side 2 has one, after , I Wanna Be Your Man. The sleeve is the second variation of 1964, CAP IS.2A. The jacket is the original version, CAP 2047.MC1A, which means it is missing the Produced by George Martin credit on the back side. All of the components of the album are East Coast produced varieties. There is no factory number on the back side of the jacket.
