Description

This week I will be listing a bunch of vinyl LPs from a collection that I bought locally. There will be some nice classical LPs, some still sealed, some Mercury Living Presence Stereo Janos Starker (including a NEVER PLAYED SR90392), and some more unusual discs - bird calls, etc. Be sure to check my other auctions throughout the week for the rest of these great records.

MY GUARANTEE: I guarantee everything I sell to be AS DESCRIBED. Please read my descriptions carefully and email with any questions before bidding. I know that you classical collectors are really fussy about condition. Dealing with returns is a real drag, so I try to describe things as acurately as possible - usually on the conservative side. See my feedbacks; with over 2,000 feedbacks, my 100% rating speaks for itself.

THIS LOT: Bach Suites For Unaccompanied Cello, complete. Janos Starker, cellist. Box set of three LPs, Mercury Living Presence High Fidelity Stereo SR3-9016 maroon labels with silver print. Complete with box and insert. Trail off numbers are:

SR-90445A-RFR-3 and SR-90455B-RFR-1

SR-90446A-RFR-2 and SR-90446B-RFR-2

SR-90447-A-M2 and SR90447-B-M3

I know that this is a desirable set in mint condition, but this one is not mint. Read the CONDITION paragraph below carefully. See my other auctions for a NEVER PLAYED Starker Mercury Living Presence SR90392.

CONDITION: The box bottom has small, old moisture stains on two corners. The box cover has three split corners and moisture stain along one edge. The insert has very light moisture stain on one corner. The paper sleeves are not all original. As for the discs themselves, I'm going to rate them overall VG+ to be conservative. All three have all of their original gloss and no scarey looking scuffs or scratches. There are a few very light surface scratches that I found when I held the discs under direct bright sunlight, but later, with the sun behind a cloud, I had trouble finding them, so they are obviously not big, ugly flaws. 446 has a light scratch on the last cut on side B that causes a barely audible click for a few rotations. I don't have audiophile equipment, I don't know how good my stylus is, and I don't have a record cleaner, so I've only played a couple of bands that had visible marks. All of these discs need a good cleaning with a professional grade cleaner. When that is done, I believe you'll have a very nice set - not perfect, but a set almost completely free of surface noise, and just a few forgivable flaws. If you're someone who demands perfection, this set is not for you. Others may grade it closer to NM, but I'm sticking with the VG+ grade on the discs and a Poor to Fair grade on the box and insert. No reserve, high bidder wins it.

Email with any questions BEFORE bidding. Better not to wait till the final day. My weekends get very busy, and I'm often not home on Sundays at all. Remember to check my other auctions for more old vinyl LPs.
