Description
Here we have the Metal Massacre MBR-1001 Vinyl LP (3rd Pressing) 1984 Re-Issue on
Metal Blade Records.
Here are the differences from this 3rd Pressing compared to the 1st and 2nd pressings:
The first song, Steeler’s “Cold Day in Hell" (which only appears on the 1st pressing) had been replaced by Black ‘n Blue’s "Chains Around Heaven" which is also the case with the 2nd pressing.
Ratt’s "Tell the World" had been pulled due contractual reasons and does not appear on this album as it does on the 1st and 2nd pressings.
On this Album, Dave Mustaine plays lead Guitar in a "new-and-improved” recording of Metallica’s “Hit the Lights" (known as version 2) which featured Lloyd Grant on the 1st pressing. It was re-recorded because James Hetfield was not satisfied with how the first pressing version sounded.
Condition/Grade of - JACKET/COVER - (Good) which is the lowest grade. I gave it that grade for the following reasons: There is heavy wear on the corners and edges and especially the spine, which I tried to capture in the 4th pic. There are creases on front and back of the cover mostly by edges and corners.
Condition/Grade of - INNER SLEEVE - (Good) It is a see-through plastic sleeve that has some wrinkling, bends, folds but no tears, rips or holes.
Condition/Grade of - RECORD- (Near Mint) As bad as the jacket/cover is, the record itself is almost flawless. I inspected the record carefully under direct lighting and rotated the album at various angles and could not see not one scratch or any marks. There are no fingerprints and hardly any dust to speak of either.
Condition/Grade of - LABEL - (Excellent) The only thing is a light spindle marks (near the hole) on both sides.
So if you want an awesome Metal Masterpiece Vinyl LP in Near Mint condition but don't mind the poor condition of the Jacket/Cover, then this is for you!
