Metallica’s debut album, and never gets old or dated! This one is a first pressing. If you haven’t heard it-do your ears a favor and get it! This pressing is the best one of all. The modern reissues DO NOT compare quality-wise to this pressing, hence it’s desirability! This LP has been stored properly in a cool, dry, dark (in an LP storage box), smoke-free home.

Vinyl: VG+; a couple of stray surface marks, none that affect play (inaudible). Clean labels, no warping. Some light popping here and there, light noise, may need a deep cleaning using a quality cleaner, but the boys did a good job by playing so loud, it covers most noise.

Jacket: VG to VG+; it is in shrink wrap, but there are some creases in the jacket beneath the shrink mainly toward the top (small area where shrink has been torn, creases visible see pic). It’s still beautiful, and a shrink original is pretty rare! No ringwear, no cover oxidation (common on early Megaforce jackets), no seam splitting, clear legible spine, no sawmarks or cut-out notches.

This LP has a clear inner sleeve. Apparently, the first few thousand that were pressed in 1983 contained a black and white lyric inner sleeve with pics, subsequent pressings in late 1983 (such as this one), were placed in clear plastic inner sleeves.

Shipping 4-1-1: item will be packaged with professional care. The vinyl will be pulled from the jacket to avoid damage to both pieces during transport (does not apply to sealed items). Only official LP mailers used, not a pile of scrap cardboard, cheap tape, and luck. Also,a cardboard insert will be included for extra protection. To help keep moisture away, the vinyl and jacket will be shipped in a clear quality resealable sleeve.

Returns (please read): quality and sound can be subjective, especially on vinyl format. Therefore all VINYL SALES ARE FINAL AND NON-RETURNABLE. Returns, full, or partial refunds will not materialize. Note: Buyers who use economy turntables (e.g. Crosley, AT-60, or any similar low-end budget system), returns/credit/refunds will not be refunded (partial or full) due to “skipping”. These inexpensive units lack a tonearm counterweight feature and are often fitted with low qulity cartridges, thus “skipping” is a characteristic of these systems, and is unrealated to the vinyl pressing.
