Description
Up for auction is Metallica’s Limited Edition Vinyl Box, released November 23rd by Rhino Records in conjunction with Elektra Records. The box contains the band’s first four albums (Kill ‘Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, …And Justice for All) as well as the rare 1987 release The $5.98 E.P. – Garage Days Re-Revisited and a Picture Disc of the 1984 single Creeping Death, which was originally only available in Europe.
I am also including in this auction the 1991 Elektra Records pressing of Metallica’s world famous Black Album, which has always been extremely hard to come by since it’s release in the early 90s.
The Limited Edition Vinyl Box is in mint condition, though it has been opened. I opened the box to inspect the contents and make sure that everything was complete and in tact. The box is numbered 944 out of a 5000 print run. The vinyl records are unplayed and pressed on 180-gram HQ heavy vinyl. The albums have been expanded to double vinyl with gatefold sleeve. The E.P. and the Picture Disc remain a single slab of vinyl.
The Black Album is in Very Good condition. Since it is an all black cover, 13 years sandwiched in between various albums have produced a bit of a worn look. The crisp black finish of 1991 is now a dull black finish. There is a bit of wear along the top and bottom edges, but not a lot. Again, the all black finish makes for a very difficult piece to keep perfect. The double vinyl records are in great condition, however.
The box set is extremely heavy, so Priority Mail postage, with insurance, will be $20.00. I will only ship domestically. I’m sorry to those fans in Canada, Europe, and the rest of the world, I cannot justify charging someone over $50.00 for postage.
Payments are only accepted via PayPal.
