Description
This album was part of a collection of several autographed albums donated to the KCET Channel 28 Auction in 1979 (KCET is the Los Angeles PBS television station). During the 70's and 80's KCET held an annual televised fund-raising auction. My parents and I were volunteers at the auction for several years. The collection of autographed albums (Including this Off the Wall album) was donated directly from CBS Records to KCET. We bid on it and won. As a 16 year-old kid, I didn't realize the potential value of these albums so I added them to my normal record collection and this album has been on my shelf for the past 32 years. This would account for some of the wear, but it is in good condition. It has the official "For Promotion Only" stamp from CBS records.
I have no other way of authenticating the autograph, but I remember being at the Auction when my parents bought it, and I have had it on my shelf for 32 years. The fact that it was donated to KCET directly from CBS Records is a good indication of its authenticity. Please contact us if you have any questions!
