- GRADING -
SEALED (SS)
Still sealed with original factory wrap.
MINT (M)
Absolutely perfect in every way. Basically, I rarely use this grade.
NEAR MINT (NM OR M-)
(M-) Records are nearly perfect, shiny, with no visible defects.
(M-) Covers are free of creases, ring wear or noticeable flaws.
EXCELLENT (E)
(Exc) Records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration.
(Exc) Covers should have only minor wear. A (E) cover might have some very minor seam wear. Also, an (E) cover may have some defacing, such as a cut-out marking. Covers with cut-out markings can never be considered Near Mint.
VERY GOOD (VG)
(VG) Records have more obvious flaws. Defects include lack most of the original gloss, some groove wear, light scratches, minor writing, tape or a sticker on label. Very playable. Good jukebox fill.
(VG) Covers will have many signs of human handling. Defects include ring wear, more creases might be visible, seam splits, writing or stamped price tag.
GOOD (G)
(G) record should still play through without skipping. Defects include surface noise, groove wear, label is worn with significant ring wear, heavy writing, or obvious damage.
(G) cover defects include ring wear, obvious seam splits, heavier writing or defacing.
FAIR (F)
(F) records go in the trash unless ultra rare or one of a kind.
