Description
Original UK United Artists label stereo press.
The first album by Michael Moorcock & The Deep Fix was recorded during 1974 and released in March 1975. Famous as a Science Fiction writer and having collaborated with Hawkwind and other bands, Michael Moorcock decided to release his own concept album. He roped in many of his friends, including Simon House, Snowy White, Dave Brock and Simon King, to create a front band The Deep Fix. The band was named after Jerry Cornelius, a character in his books. The resulting concept album was finally performed live in 1978 at the Roundhouse in London.
This is the first pressing with the tan United Artists labels, the 'Liberty-United Artists' label rim text and A-1U B-1U matrices & 1-R 1-A stampers of the original issue.
The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud crackle or hiss and definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, it is a really great, loud & clear listen.
The matrix nos. are; UAG-29732, A-1U mother stamper 1-A, B-1U mother stamper 1-R. This is one of the early 1st pressings of the original 1975 UK stereo issue of this rare album!
