ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This handsome LP from Angel (35259, US pressing, mono) features the legendary Michael Rabin in two stunning concerto performances, an ideal pairing of the Paganini D major Op. 6 with Glazunov’s A minor Op. 81, superbly partnered in both by Lovro von Maticic and the Philharmonia Orchestra.  In the former, only Kogan and Perlman, and Tretyakov have equaled, but not surpassed, his achievement in this work, and in the latter Rabin can well be spoken of in the same breath as Heifetz, Milstein, and most recently Znaider. Indeed in the cadenza of the 1st movement Paganini, and the coda of the Glazunov, Rabin plays with a panache that is quite simply staggering – and he is never less than deeply musical. 

CONDITION – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD. There is edge wear, corner wear, aging, and discoloration, but no seam splits, owner's markings, or other defects – overall, a very good collector's copy.

The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT, close to NM. Though surfaces are not perfectly silent, this is a fine copy and the playback remains very enjoyable. However, if you must have a flawless or NM copy, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, rates as an excellent collector's copy.
