Description
SP8534, Rabin playing Paganini on Capitol rainbow stereo. This is a filler copy for a beginner's collection. It plays very well on my Technics SL-D2 with a Grado gold stylus, but the disc has transit scratches (non-sounding on my turntable) from being played on a machine with a skating needle. Obviously, at this price, it is NOT mint, and advanced collectors won't want it.
Visually, the scratches don't look good. But if I were to grade this by ear, it's not far from VG/EX. It shocked me when I played it. But I can't guarantee how this will sound on your machine. Maybe your setup's better than mine, and it plays completely clean; maybe you're running an old Sears turntable with a 20-year-old needle and it sounds awful.
Again, not a mint disc. But you likely couldn't even get a CD re-issue at this price.
