Description

The group took its name because its members came from Wilson Pickett’s backing band.
Led by saxophonist George Patterson Jr., who arranged the Isley Brothers’ “It’s Your Thing,” the lineup also included Charles Pitts, a key member who played the famous guitar riff on “It’s Your Thing” as well as on Isaac Hayes’ “Theme from Shaft.”

Released in 1969, the same year as “It’s Your Thing,” this album is an essential work for understanding the very early days of funk. Personally, I first encountered Xavier’s Point of Pleasure (1982) due to my generation, and later was surprised to learn through this album that Ernest Xavier Smith had already been an active player since the 1960s.

While some sources have reported that these items may still be subject to duties based on their country of origin, the information is still conflicting.

For the time being, I will continue to ship via DDP with no extra charges on your end. Please be aware that I may need to adjust my shipping method depending on how the situation develops with customs agencies and carriers.

 (Update as of October 1): eBay SpeedPAK automatically adds estimated customs duties and clearance fees, so I've had to include those charges in the shipping cost. 

(Added on November 15): At present, U.S.-made products are no longer accepted for shipment via eBay SpeedPAK Economy. In addition, Japan Post has suspended all shipments to the U.S. Therefore, my only shipping option currently available is eBay SpeedPAK Expedited.  

Combined shipments that include U.S.-made items cannot use Economy Shipping either. If you would like combined shipping, I will prepare and send the invoice from my side. 

(Added on November 23): The SpeedPAK operator informed me that customs deposits are required in advance only for items not manufactured in the United States. Therefore, for US-made products, I will ship without adding any customs charges. Please note that this policy may change in the future depending on circumstances.
