Description
Up for bid is a rare mono LP, "Miles Davis, Vol 1," featuring Miles Davis, Jay Jay Johnson, Jackie McLean, Art Blakey, and Kenny Clarke. See pictures for song list. This was released by Blue Note Records (BLP 1501) in 1963. LP is VG+ with light scuffs on either side. This LP also has a couple of tiny light scratches on either side. This LP looks and sounds great - plays with some surface noise (some intermittent crackle, tics, and a couple of pops) but no skips. Surface noise may be greatly reduced with a professional clean. Interior labels are very clean. LP is very clean and retains a nice gloss. Interior labels have the "47 West 63rd NYC" address. The address on the back of the jacket reads 43 West 61st St., New York 23. There is an etched ear and "Van Gelder" is stamped in the matrix on either side. Matrix numbers read BN-LP-1501-A-1 / BN-LP-1501-B-1. There is a deep groove on side 1 and a "step" on side 2 (see pictures). Includes original interior paper sleeve, with "Blue Note Records Inc. 43 West 61st St., New York 23, N.Y." printed at the bottom of one side (see pictures). Jacket is VG+, with a small seam split in the center of the bottom seam, about 2 inches long. There is wear on all seams and corners. There is ring wear on the front and back of the jacket. The name of a previous owner is blacked out with marker on the back of the jacket in the top left corner (see pictures). Don't miss out of this rare gem!
