Description
An incredible find! Original First pressing of Miles Davis "Young Man with A Horn" Vol 2. Blue Note 5022 from May 1953. This is an original 1st pressing. How do I know? The back cover shows 5001-5026. Subsequent pressings including the one I kept(because it was NM) show up to 5035 and so on and son as they releaed new titles they changed the backs. Essentially this lp was pressed from the earliest plates. The label is NM- and looks perfect except for the slightest off color which you see in the photo. (orig deep groove, flat edge, with Lexington Ave address, and EAR in dead wax) The record is VG+ based on a visual grading but listening to it I would call it VG++ or NM- as the music shines through like most Blue Notes do. Their are only small scuffs and some small very tiny light scratches .None really affect the music except during the quiet passages and the initial run in groove . It plays perfect no skips and has all the most of the original gloss of a new record. The only reason I am selling this one as I have upgraded to a NM copy as I previously stated. You won't be sorry with this record unless you expect it to be NM. The cover no seam splits but the top left corner is dented slightly as if someone droped the cover without the record in it..I would call the cover VG+ because of no seam splits. You can see the cover in the picture well. It is not that bad really and this copy has a low enough reserve to make it a steal. I can't believe how wonderful this record sounds on my ELP laser turntable. You can hear Miles in the room with you. This is not one of those recordings like on a 78 that has that consistant surface noise. This sounds like a Blue Note LP blasting thru your turntable but with some light pops and clicks here and there as you listen. Do you know what I mean with a Blue Note? They sound better than they look! :) This extremely rare recording would be a great addition to any jazz collection till you can afford the upgrade to a NM.I hope I described it well and I think you will be happy with it.Thanks for looking!!!!!!!!
