The debut LP by the Dutch post-punk experimentalists Minny Pops is one of the forgotten gems of the late 70s/early 80s.
Wally van Middendorp, the creative genius behind the band, described the album as purposely “full of confusion – there’s nice songs, and then all of a sudden total distortion.” Live, the band used to stand with their arms folded after each song for a full-minute so that the audience could think about the song they just played!
This Dutch import on the band’s label (PLUREX 900) is not easy to find, and this copy’s in nice shape. The vinyl is near mint. Unfortunately, the glue on the upper seam of the cover has gone unsticky and there’s some minor (coffee?) stains on the lower left of the front cover, but all in all, this is a fine copy of this rare LP.
