Description
Offered here for your collection is an amazingly good and rare record, on beautiful clear red color vinyl, and in essentially store stock condition.
This is an imprtant record in the history of R&R, Maximum R&B, Soul (modern, Shouter, even Northern), because the influence on all these catagories is encapsulated in this 1954 disc.
The Dixie Hummingbirds.
The tracks are: “Live Right, Die Right” and “Prayer Wheel”.
“Live Right, Die Right” is a medium tempo rock boogie type arrangement. Roots Rock R&B for sure,
“Prayer Wheel” starts slower, goes to medium tempo, and then to a Very loud Very fast Maximum R&B Soul Shouter; (a northern dancer from the mid 1950’s?). Excellent.
Both songs are group originals.
The instrumentation on both tracks is electric guitars, bass, and drums .
The labels and vinyl appear factory fresh. When I listened to it I can hear a little noise in quiet parts, but overall it is extremely enjoyable.
I based my minimum bid on this 45 on musical quality, and extreme rarity. I could find no modern sales for this item, either on black vinyl or color. I don’t know what this record will eventually sell for, but I think this MB will certainly attract the attention this record deserves.

FS=Original Factory Sealed. ///
New= New (or Mint) perfect in every way, record appears unplayed. ///
New- = New minus (or Mint minus), record played maybe 1 to 9 times , perhaps a few spindle lines on label, and maybe a sleeve line or two. Covers close to M, has maybe a small corner bend, maybe the very slightest of ring line caused by the record.///
VG+ = Very Good Plus, record played a little more than an m- but well cared for. Vinyl has the vast majority of its original luster, may have sleeve lines, maybe a few very lite scuffs; maybe one or two small, very light surface scratches. But not all at the same time. Cover MAY have very minor ringwear, maybe a few other flaws, a minor corner bend or two, maybe a small partial seam split; ///
VG = record has the flaws of a VG+, only more of them; may also have some small scratches that are felt with a fingernail. Vinyl is very playable and will play through, good luster. Probably some noise between tracks, maybe in quiet passages. Still, a reasonably well cared for record. /// VG- = proportionally lower than a VG.////
G = It is rare that I will even list a record in this condition; but it will be proportionally lower than a VG-.
