Description
This is an extremely rare mint condition box set - the legendary and unique Public Image Limited Metal Box. I bought it on the day it came out 23rd November 1979, played it twice and left it in my mother's house in Wales where it has remained since along with a lot of other vinyl. The metal box shows signs of being almost 40 years old, as it should, but has not been moved or played as I moved away to London two months later. This is the real deal and a must for any collector of original punk and post punk vinyl as is extremely rare and a real landmark recording. A vinyl collector offered me £150 cash for it the other day but I 'd rather it go to a fan than a dealer.
"Public Image Ltd...John Lydon.Keith Levene.Wobble.Jeannette Lee.Dave Crowe..." were the members of PIL at the time of the release. However, Jeannette Lee and Dave Crowe as non-musical band members are not featured on the record.
Packaged in a 12" film can-style metal box. Sides are labeled Metal 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 on the info sheet and Metal 1-A, Metal 1-B, Metal 1-C, Metal 1-D, Metal 1-E and Metal 1-F on the record labels.
Includes an A5 size sheet with tracklist and line-up.
Side B ends with a locked groove which repeats the last few seconds of "Swan Lake" endlessly until the needle is lifted from the record.
The Runout for 1.B has three lines for the letters "B", the middle of which is superimposed over an "A"
Edition of 50,000 copies (plus an extra 10,000 for export).
We offer no returns as this is mint and photographed.
