Miss Lee Morse and her Blue Grass Boys 78 record RARE LABEL STARK VG+.


I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER COPY OF THIS MISS LEE MORSE RECORD AND CAN FIND VERY LITTLE INFORMATION ON ANYTHING ABOUT THIS RECORD! MUST BE EXTREMELY RARE.


The label is Stark piano co. Which was a piano manufacturer/ seller in Chicago and New York


I do know that in the early days these records were often sold at music shops such as that; piano makers, etc.. began to manufacture their own records too, I guess similar to how Paramount records was started as a furniture/ phonograph player cabinet manufacturer and eventually began making their own records; I believe the Stark Piano Co. story would likely be very similar but of coarse with much less records produced.


I wasn’t sure how to price this because I literally could not find another record to compare to so maybe this is the only copy known? Or at least the only one ever offered for sale! This record came from a player piano/ phonograph restoration place record was stored on a shelf with several others for a LONG TIME! I gave it a light wash and dried and played thru once per side on an old victrola with a new soft point needle per side. Both sides played thru with some ticks and pops and background noise, but great music and plays thru both sides on my victrola.


I’m grading it at VG but it may be closer to VG+ because most wear is superficial.
