Original Master Recording of Super Tramp's classic masterpiece The Crime of The Century in an Mobile Fidelity UHQR thick vinyl limited edition pressing is available for your consideration.
Sonically this LP is a musical revelation with sound that cuts through the recording veils of standard pressings. A transparency is found throughout playback on this record that moves you closer to hearing the original mastering in the studio. A wealth of new details and musical textures and dynamic contrasts can be heard from cut to cut and the overall impact is a sound that just seems more real and alive. If you want a stunning rendition of one of rocks greatest releases this is a must have for your collection.
I purchased this record sealed years ago and only played a few cuts of my favorite cuts upon taking it home from the store. It has sat unplayed until yesterday and I played graded both sides so most of the record has really been only played one time.
The visual grade for this record would be mint...there are no scuffs or spindle traces. It is just as it came sealed from the store shelf.
The record box has a all of the original materials inside in pristine condition ( see photos ). The outside of the box has been moved from shelf to shelf and into storage so though there are no torn seams the outside does have the blemishes seen in my photos.
So we have a record that has been basically played one time on high end gear and it sounds just as it did the day I opened it. It's is basically as new but the record does have some occasional light background tics and a few more moderate. None of these keep the listener from immediately being captivated by the incredible detail, clarity, sound staging and sense of realism offered by this outstanding remastering. Much of the record plays without any issue for the most part ( side two). I do want prospective buyers to know that if you want CD dead silent backgrounds you might look to other copies of this release. If you want a simply stunning record that you will pull out for friends to marvel at the the abilities of your stereo or the hidden treasures to be discovered on this wonderful remastering this item should be a wonderful treat. Its flaws are minor and are just as they were factory shipped.
Background information: I am a music collector and audiophile. Selling duplicate copies is not a lively hood but a way to help fund my wife's and my heart for serving overseas with a non-denominational non profit organization and get some great recordings into other music lover hands. I go out of my way to accurately describe the condition of anything I sell. I would not appreciate a surprise if I were buying a record and do not want you to be disappointed either.
I do not sell trashed materials. I fully play through each record I sell. Playback is through my personal stereo which has a two well respected turntables with high end moving coil and moving magnet cartridges that are painstakingly set up and maintained. I use a high resolution tube preamp and full range electrostatic speakers and additional sub woofers to grade each listing. My system is neutral and transparent and revealing. I cannot guarantee how the record will sound in your home because people use a wide array of gear set up in unique acoustic settings adjusted to personal tastes. I can spend hours and longer tweaking a cartridge. I hear minute differences in VTA, tracking force, anti skate and even the base the turntable rests upon. The way you have yours set up may highlight a certain aspect of a records character. I strive for a balanced musical set up where small differences between pressings are easily heard but the musical heart of the recording is still allowed to thrive. I only offer records that I myself would buy.
If you cannot stand any noise on an LP I ask you not to purchase anything I offer even if rated mint. I have found even new sealed pressings often to have occasional tics and pops. Occasional pops and light tics can be found on most records that visually rate mint..that is why I audio grade each LP.
